What is ask the world?: A place to ask real people a question and hear what they have to say.
Who will answer my question?: Whoever is here. You might hear from someone across the street or across the world. You won’t know who they are unless they choose to tell you.
How many people will answer?: Maybe one. Maybe a hundred. Maybe a million. Maybe nobody. That’s the world.
Are the answers correct?: Maybe. Maybe not. Answers are from people, not an authority. We don’t rank, verify, or decide which answers are right.
Do you use AI to answer questions?: No. AI does not answer questions and is not used for moderation today. Fixed safety and privacy checks help block obvious secrets, private information, links, and some abusive content. The service does not write, rank, summarize, or choose answers.
Who can answer?: Anyone who happens to be here while your question is active. No profile or account is required.
Do I need an account?: No. Save the private link you receive after asking a question. It’s the only way to return to your answers.
What happens to my question?: It waits its turn in the location you chose, becomes active for a limited time, and then disappears from the public site. Your answers remain available through your private link for the configured retention period.
Why can’t I see other people’s answers?: Because we want your answer, not everyone else’s answer influencing yours.
Is it anonymous?: You don’t need to provide your name or create an account to ask or answer. We still use limited technical information to operate the service and prevent abuse, so we don’t claim perfect anonymity. See Privacy for details.
